What a fun week!

Daddy said that this was our last week in Brisbane, and we should make the most of it. I guess Mummy took up the challenge because we have had a pretty cool week!

On Monday, Mummy and I went into town. She bought a wristband from some army guys and we stood on a street corner whilst somebody played a trumpet. I don't know what it was about, but lots of people were wearing red flowers. Then we went to see if we could get Nana and Grandpa's phones switched on, but we couldn't. Mummy said that they were putting the Xmas decorations up and we spotted this massive teddy bear!

Then we had a burrito for lunch and Mummy took me to the playground. But I didn't want to play, I just wanted to push my own pushchair home again. And Mummy let me! I felt like a big boy.

After my nap, I got to run around outside the tall building where we live and meet the fish in the pond. It was really fun and they came up and nibbled my fingers!

On Tuesday we went to my music group, Hickory Dickory Rock. I was really brave and didn't cry, for the first time ever! I ran into the room on my own, and I spent most of the session sitting on the edge of the stage, just like the big boys do!

I even did a bit of dancing to one of some of my favourite songs!

On Wednesday, Mummy took me back to the Southbank Parklands to the place with all the showers (well, i call them showers, Mummy and Daddy call them fountains). She didn't get to take any photos because she was running around after me! And I waded right into the deep end and her shorts got all wet! It was really fun, and afterwards we shared a cold (frozen yogurt smoothie).

On Thursday,Mummy took me shopping for some new shoes because my feet have grown a lot since we got here! I really like my new shoes, but that evening, as I was running with my friend Sam, towards the playground, I tripped over my new shoes (they are bigger than I thought), and grazed my head on the path :-(

It hurt a lot and I cried for a minute and had cuddles with mummy but then I remembered that we were on our way to the playground, so I stopped crying and ran off again. Everyone said I was really brave! But if you see a booboo on my head in photos, that's where it came from!

I had great fun that night cos I got to play with all Sam's toys, including trucks and a MASSIVE train set. Although I did have to share with his little brother Toby. I realised that I do like tomatoes after all and I really enjoyed having ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert. I got to stay up the latest I've ever been up and we drove home in a huge thunderstorm, which was very exciting!

Friday morning was brilliant! Mummy took me to the Maritime Museum so that I could see all the boats! I had such a good time, have a look at these photos:

This is me with the pink sailboat that a big girl (who was 16 at the time) sailed all the way around the world by herself!

And this is me with a tiny sailing boat that some crazy Canadian sailed to Brisbane in from Canada!

But best of all was the HUGE navy boat that I got to climb all over, inside and outside, upstairs and downstairs!

This isn't it, it's just a model of it! Here's the real thing!
This is one of the big guns

This is the kitchen

Here are the little guns

This is where one of the Officer's slept

And here I am driving the boat!

In the afternoon, Daddy took me swimming.

You can see me jumping in and swimming if you click here and here.

Saturday started like any other day, I woke up and shouted for my bottle of milk. But after that it was different....instead of playing and having breakfast in my pj's, Mummy got me dressed and then we got in the car. After a little while we stopped at McDonald's (to Daddy's disgust), and I had pancakes and sausages for breakfast!

Then we got back in the car and drove up into the mountains. We were going for a hike in the rainforest! I've been on a lot of hikes, so I know how it's done and as soon as they let me out of the car, I set off, just like Daddy!

But they soon caught me and trapped me in the backpack. It's ok, from up there I can see a lot and bash Daddy on the head if he doesn't go where I want! First we went to see a really big tree:

I look a bit miserable here. That's because I was still crying - I was disappointed that they caught me and put me in the backpack! But had I known that 468 steps were waiting, just around the corner, I probably would have been laughing at this point! You see Mummy and Daddy picked a 6km route from the rim of an extinct volcano, all the way down to the valley below, and then back again!

Here we are taking in the view from the top.

Here's Daddy and I on the way down, through the rainforest.

And stopping to look up and the first little waterfall

A bit more walking, with just a few of the many many steps...

Me and Daddy looking at the bottom of the big waterfall (or biiiiiiiiiiiig shower as I called it). And a bit further on, we stopped for lunch at a beautiful swimming hole.

On the way back, I got a bit bored, so Daddy played a fun game with me, where we had to fight our way through the jungle. It made me laugh a lot! See for yourself if you like? Click here

But you know what....being carried for 6km, in 90% humidity up and down 468 steps is exhausting.....and I'm afraid that I fell asleep long before we reached the top! I don't remember finishing the walk!

Today I've been swimming with Daddy, been to the playground and for a walk through the botanic gardens, and I got to have my own burger and chips again for dinner! Then we came home on the red boat in a thunderstorm!

Not sure when I'll be writing next as we leave Brisbane in a couple of days and the adventures begin again!
