Boxes, burritos and other brilliant stuff!

Since the last time I updated you, things have been good fun. It's been hot and on one day a bit cold and rainy, and tonight we are expecting our first thunderstorm since Singapore. Luckily I am a big boy and they don't scare me!
I have been having lots of fun with the new toy I found. It's the box that Daddy sent all my books over in, and I really like it. It is one of my best toys. That and the train set of course!
I have been going to lots of different playgrounds and some of the same ones. But I have realised that even at the old playgrounds there's always new games to play. I watched one of the big boys go down the slide backwards, so I copied him and had a go too! It was fun but my t-shirt kept riding up and my tummy kept getting stuck, so I went back to going down the fast way!
I also found a Mexican place that makes food just for me! Look - its called Little Guy, which is what Mummy and Daddy call me! Of course, once I showed mummy, she agreed I could have one for lunch and it was brilliant, I really enjoyed my first burrito!

We have also started a new game called "potty training". I don't really understand it, but I have got a new chair with a hole in it and if I sit on it for long enough with no nappy on, then mummy gives me a smartie. I like smarties! And I like my new chair!

On the weekend we did lots of unusual stuff, like taking the ferry in the dark, watching laser lights, staying up late and very loud fireworks. It was ok but it wasn't really my thing. I pretended to like it because I know Mummy and Daddy were excited about it, but I was pretty tired!

What I did like were the helicopters that Daddy took me to see on Saturday afternoon! They were flying up and down the river and there were lots and lots of people there to watch them. Once they flew very close to the water and turned round in a very slow circle - and they sprayed up loads of water and the people in the front got wet!

On Sunday we went out to see some animals in the mountains. I didn't recognise them, because they are animals that live in Australia. But it was nice to meet them.
A Park Ranger called Jason came to introduce us to some of the animals. I was a bit scared (and I cried which is why I have my dummy in the picture), when he brought out a blue-tongued skink, but then he brought out a real (bearded) dragon, so I had to touch that. But the coolest thing I met was a carpet python - she was really pretty and kept sticking her tongue out and climbing all over Jason. I got to touch her too, see the picture Daddy took:

Yesterday was good, we went to a new park and I got to ride on a train and go to another playground. I was really brave, I climbed up a ladder and went down the dark (covered) slide! I had so much fun, I fell asleep before I got home and had my nap in the pushchair!

This morning I had a boiled egg for breakfast - I loved it so much that I ate most of Mummy's too! Mummy and Daddy both laughed at me and said I had egg on my face.

Then Mummy and I took the ferry to the library and went to a music group. I cried a bit and sat in Mummy's lap for most of it. There were a lot of kids there and the man had a microphone which made him sound like he had a loud scary voice. He did sing a lot of my favourite songs though and most of the other kids were dancing and having fun. Maybe next time I will join in too. I felt better towards the end and went and fetched my own cushion so I could sit next to Mummy, but I still found it a little bit scary, as you can probably tell from my expression!

I am having a nap now, but later I will probably go for a swim with Daddy. Tomorrow the weather isn't supposed to be too good. It looks like it will be a bit rainy, Mummy says it could be a good day to go to the beach on the South Bank because, even though it is school holidays, it shouldn't be too crowded, and after all we are British - going to the beach in the rain is what we do!

Playgrounds galore!

Well, I do like my new lifestyle! Swimming and sunshine everyday, a trip on a boat and a frozen yoghurt smoothie and a new playground almost everyday! I could get used to this!

On the downside my pink trike disappeared off the balcony whilst I was swimming the other day, replaced by a note saying "sorry our 3 year old missed her bike, so we've borrowed it back"! Luckily I am ok with sharing, so it hasn't bothered me too much.

We went hiking up a big hill on Sunday to see the view (well, I say "we hiked", what I mean is that mummy and daddy hiked and daddy carried me in the backpack!). All the same it was very hot and by the time we got to the top, I was parched!

I shared mummy's soup and daddy's burger for lunch and when we got to the bottom of the hill, I got to play on the slide in the playground! After my nap, and a walk around a really big garden, I got to eat ice cream, in a kind of cookie sandwich, and drink milk out of a big boy glass. Yummy!

Daddy started work on Monday, so I have mainly been hanging out with mummy. She isn't quite so much fun as daddy, as she always remembers to brush my teeth and she says that she won't put up with my nonsense, which means that she gets cross with me if I keep doing something after she has said no. But we still have fun, she takes me on the boat and sometimes we share a frozen yoghurt smoothie, I can't say smoothie, so I call it "cold", luckily mummy understands what I mean when I ask for "more more cold?"

We have also been going to a lot of playgrounds. There is one right under Story Bridge, which is just up the way from our apartment. I like it because it has a really big slide with bumps in it, and I can do it all by myself! It also has a wobbly boat with steering wheels. Mummy stands in the back and makes the boat wobble which makes me giggle, she is fun sometimes, you see!

You can see the bridge in the background here, but here is a better picture of it. We played until it was getting dark and the bridge lights came on.

Then we went home. It was pretty dark. We saw something big with a long fluffy tail run up a tree, mummy said it was probably a possum or a glider, but it was too dark to tell. Then, I saw some really big birdies and I pointed them out to mummy, she said that they were flying foxes, which apparently are a type of bat. I just thought they were birds that could see in the dark! Still, better than at home, where if I am really lucky I might see a squirrel in the park, but more likely just some kids kissing or smoking!

Today has been really hot. It was too hot to stay and play outside, so after we finished the errands, we just went home. At least I still got to ride on the boat and it was a pretty walk home, as some of the trees are covered in purple flowers which smell great. Mummy says they are jacaranda trees and they smell like honey

That is our house poking over the top of the tree!

Oh, good news, I found a train set in the cupboard and I love playing with it! I have put it on my Christmas list already, because I would really like to have one at home when I go back. I hope Santa thinks I have been good enough!

Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter: 32 daddy says, whatever that means...so mummy says that we probably won't go out in the morning, we might just go for a swim and wait until the afternoon breezes arrive before we go out to play. I hope they arrive early! But if they don't, I'll just watch some more Thomas the Tank Engine on my iPad (shhh, mummy and daddy think it is theirs!) and play with my trains.....perhaps I'll take a jacuzzi bath....oh boy, life is tough!

Down under dude!

We are in a place called Brisbane in Australia. It is sunny and hot here but not as sticky as Singapore. Mummy and Daddy say that we're staying here for a while. That's cool with me because I still get to take the lift and swim every day! Also this is a pretty amazing city - they have a free boat that goes up and down the river, and I get to go on it every day!

The apartment we are staying in is really nice, it has a high up balcony, where I can watch the boats go up and down the river. I can even see the airplanes heading for the airport in the distance. But the best thing about this place is that I have my own trike....it's not as cool as the green one I have at home -this one is pink!- but I like it a lot anyway! I also have my own booster seat!

Me with Mummy and Daddy, fresh off the plane

Trying out my booster seat

We did some napping the day we arrived, cos we were all tired. And we went for a swim and then a walk around Kangaroo Point at sunset. It is a nice place with parks and gardens and little beaches when the tide is out!

This is me and Mummy under Story Bridge (Daddy took the picture too soon - I was trying to fix my hair!)

And here we are by a pretty tree with the Central Business District in the background across the river.

I have really liked riding on the ferries, but Mummy and Daddy have been teasing me about how boring it is, as I fell asleep on my first ever trip on the boat - I'm blaming the jet lag!

Yesterday we went to the South Bank to explore. I think I am really going to like it there, they have a beach and sprinklers to play in and everything! But the first thing I saw when I got there was a huge lizard! And it wasn't even a zoo or anything! It was just wandering around the park!

Mummy says she thinks it is an Eastern Water Dragon! If it is, it's the first real dragon I've seen!

We also shared a chocolate ice cream and found a playground for me to play in

This morning, Mummy took me back to the South Bank, so Daddy could do some work. We took the boat and then shared a mango frozen yogurt smoothie and walked back over the bridge and through the Botanic Gardens. We saw more dragons and a cheerleading squad practising, they were throwing people in the air. Mummy said Daddy would be gutted to have missed out!

Then we found an even better playground! I got to ride on a rocking wombat and I could do the big slide all by myself. It was really fast and fun - I hope we can go back there again.

After that, we took the ferry home and had lunch with Daddy, then he and I went for a nap. When we get up, we are going to go swimming and I might even get to have a burger from our BBQ this evening!

Asian adventure

Sorry that I haven't told you about my trip yet - I have been having so much fun but I've also been really tired, so I have spent my spare time napping, not blogging!

I had a fun ride on a purple bus and then on a train and finally, I got to go on an airplane. I was very tired and cried a bit but when I woke up we were nearly there! Singapore is very hot and sticky but also very exciting!

When we got to the hotel, I knew mummy had picked it just for me! It was 27 stories high and the lifts were glass and went up and down the open hotel lobby. I loved them and jumped up and down and squealed because it was so exciting to ride in them! Our room was only on the ninth floor but luckily the swimming pool was on the top floor, so I got to go all the way up and down

We went to bed early because we were tired and slept late because of the jet lag. Then we went to the zoo, it was fun, we saw lots of animals, like tigers and hippos.

We also watched some amazing Asian elephants who were really clever, they sprayed us with water, walked along a log, turned around and walked backwards on it too! The dragged and lifted logs, trumpeted at us and waved with their trunks - it was so cool!

Here I am watching the show (please excuse my and mummy's hair do's - it rained a lot!)

I even saw a polar bear taking a nap!

The next day we did a lot of napping because we were tired but we also got to go on the top of a double decker bus! When we went out for dinner it was all swimming around in tanks - Daddy showed me what we could eat!

I felt a bit sorry for them, so I mainly ate rice!

This morning we went on the Singapore Flyer, which is a big wheel even bigger than the London Eye (35m taller) - we could see lots of things from the top including the pit straight for next week's Grand Prix race, the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, golf courses, skyscrapers and lots and lots of trucks and buses!

This afternoon I have been playing at the best airport in the world and now I am in my pjs about to get on the plane to Brisbane - I hope I sleep well as I'll be on mummy and daddy's laps all night!

Next stop, Australia!!!

Last day at nursery

Mummy says that yesterday was my last day at nursery. I don't really understand, as Wednesday is always my last day at nursery....until Monday of course!

I really enjoy nursery, especially playing with the toys and my friends, like Lucas. I will really miss Charlene, Zoe, Sophy & Mykaela - they have looked after me and played lots of fun games.

Here is a picture of the card that my class gave me - I love it because it has a choo choo on the front!

And this is me having a last cuddle with Charlene!

I promised to go back to nursery to see everyone and show off my tan when we get back. I'll miss all my friends at The Grange :-(

But today Nana and Grandpa are coming to play, I can't wait (in fact, I'm so excited I'm refusing to nap!)

Weekend fun!

I love the weekends because I get to play lots of silly games with my Daddy!

Yesterday morning Mummy and Daddy took me for my first "proper walk" at Thatcham Lakes. They didn't bring my pushchair or the backpack but they weren't sure that I could walk the whole way. Well, I sure showed them! I ran most of the way around, only stopping to talk to the ducks!

When I got up from my nap Nana and Grandpa had arrived to play with me. They took us out for lunch at the canal and I had sausages, burgers and chips - and Grandpa took me to see a narrow boat go through the lock!

I had a new story at bedtime called One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. I like it a lot.

Mummy packed a suitcase and said "see you tomorrow" when she left. I think that means that Daddy is in charge....this should be fun. I bet we go out for a walk with my doggies and that I can have curry for dinner.

I hope he forgets to brush my teeth!

Getting ready

Mummy says we're going on a long ride on an airplane to a place where we can go swimming everyday.

It's called Australia and Uncle Geoff lives there. I have been playing with my Australia puzzle from Nana and Grandpa and practising my climbing on the coffee table just in case we have a big adventure (don't know why Mummy doesn't think this is a good idea!?)

Daddy says he is going to teach me to say "G'day mate" but so far he's just been going on about crocs (don't know why he is so interested in shoes all of a sudden)!

Today I am going to have a last play with lots of my NCT friends.....I'm going to miss them and so is Mummy :-(
